I found this list hard to narrow down, but I’m glad I took the time to do it. Lots of good new music this year. Yes, I am well aware of the fact that most of these albums were not released in 2013. A few were even released before I was born. But they were new to me, and found themselves in heavy rotation on my ipod/turntable.

Honorable Mentions:
There are always a few that come close but don’t quite make the cut. And it usually comes down to minor technicalities; too many interludes, lacking variety, etc. But I can honestly say that in another year, each one of these could have easily made the top 10.
Clutch – Earth Rocker
Thin Lizzy – Jailbreak
Janelle Monae – The Electric Lady
ASG – Win Us Over
Rediscovered Gems:
I’ve been around the sun enough times that I can stumble across some old favorite albums and have them genuinely surprise me, or take on a new life. This is my little space to honor them.
Strata – The End of the World
Rise Against – Siren Song for the Counter Culture
Michael Jackson – Dangerous
Queen – Jazz
